Amman- The student Karim Abdullah Khalid (Faculty of Information Technology/Middle East University) won the silver medal in the second edition of Jordanian Universities Championship for Jujutsu which was organized by Princess Sumaya University for Technology. During his participation, the student presented a distinguished performance in the championship which witnessed strong competition. The participants represented athlete students from various universities in Jordan.
The Dean of Student Affairs at Middle East University Dr. Salim Sharif congratulated the University family and the officials of the sports clubs at the Deanship of Student Affairs on this outstanding accomplishment. Dr. Salim Sahrif affirmed the University's continuous support to the creative and outstanding students in various fields.
It is worth mentioning that the student Karim (under the supervision of the Sports Supervisor at the Deanship of Student Affairs Mr. Taha Hawatmah) achieved many sports accomplishments at the local, Arabic and international level. His last achievement was winning the fifth place in Jujutsu World Championship among forty participants, in addition to winning the golden medal twice in the Kingdom Championship for Jujutsu.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
