Amman - Middle East University participated in the campaign launched by the Directorate of Public Security / Drug Enforcement Administration "Jordan without Drugs", which aims at broadcasting various awareness and drug-related topics.
The campaign was held in partnership with Jordan Monster Bikers Team headed by the student of Middle East University (Faculty of Business), Mohammed Wael Mohammed Abdul Aziz. The campaign included visiting the headquarters of Drug Enforcement Administration and meeting its Director General Anwar Al Tarawneh. Moreover, General Al Tarawneh demanded the heads of households and educational, religious, social and media institutions to make efforts to protect Jordan from the scourge of drugs that threatens many human societies.
The members of the team listened to a detailed explanation by the Head of Awareness, Education and Information Department in Drug Enforcement Administration Major. Anas Al Tantawi, who talked about the role of the Administration in combating the dangerous social and economic effects of drugs. He also reviewed methods of prevention and treatment.
In addition to that, the campaign included a tour in the museum of the Administration, where the visitors were introduced to methods of smuggling, forgery and monumental theft. In his turn, General Al Tarawneh thanked MEU for its visit and keenness to support and participate in the activities of the Administration.
It should be noted that Middle East University aims at highlighting its message and translating it into reality, through participating in these events and activities to activate its communication with all segments of the local community.
The Middle East University was founded in 2005 as a Graduate Studies University with twelve specializations. Towards the beginning of the academic year 2008-2009 the university opened twenty specializations for both Graduate and Undergraduate students with the ongoing growth in staff and students.
